Gainsmith Pro

How do I get Pro on a new iPhone or iPad?

Sign in with the same Apple ID and open Gainsmith. Pro unlocks by itself. If it doesn't, go to Profile, Gainsmith Pro, Restore purchases.

How do I cancel or change my subscription?

Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Gainsmith. Or in Gainsmith, go to Profile, Gainsmith Pro, Manage subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews to avoid the next charge. Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com and choose Gainsmith.

What do I keep if I stop paying for Pro?

Everything you've logged. History, charts, routines, your own exercises and backups are free for good. You lose the coach: today's workout, set targets and the readiness map.

Your training

I got a new iPhone. Where's my training?

Your workouts sync through your own iCloud. On the new iPhone, sign in with the same Apple ID, make sure iCloud is on for Gainsmith (Settings, your name, iCloud), and open the app. Give it a minute on Wi-Fi. Profile, iCloud backup shows the status.

How do I import from Strong or Hevy?
  1. In Strong, open Settings and tap Export Strong Data. In Hevy, go to Profile, Settings, Export & Import Data, Export Workouts.
  2. Save the CSV file to the Files app.
  3. In Gainsmith, go to Profile, Import history, and choose the file.
  4. Check the matches and tap Import. You can undo it on the next screen.

Set Strong to English before exporting. Spreadsheets work too, with a date, exercise and reps on each row.

How do I export my history?

Profile, Export history. You get a CSV file with every set, which opens in Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets.

Workouts aren't showing in Apple Health

Check Profile, Apple Health is on. Then in the Health app, tap your profile, Apps, Gainsmith, and allow Workouts. Only finished workouts are saved, and only from when it was turned on.

How do I delete my data?

Profile, Delete workout history removes your workouts. To remove the iCloud copy too: Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Account Storage, Gainsmith. Deleting the app removes everything on your iPhone. We don't hold a copy anywhere.

Training and coaching

The readiness map doesn't match how I feel

Readiness is an estimate from the sets you log. Tap How do you feel? on the Today tab and tell Gainsmith which body parts are fresh, sore or very sore. It updates straight away, and over time it learns how quickly you recover.

Why did my target weight go down?

If you fall short of the rep range two sessions running, Gainsmith takes about 10% off so you can build back up with good form. It's normal, and it's how most lifters break a plateau.

How do I pause a workout?

Tap Pause beside the clock at the top of your workout. The clock and the rest timer stop until you tap Resume or tick your next set.

Can I use it with only my bodyweight?

Yes. In Profile, Equipment, choose Bodyweight. Gainsmith only shows exercises you can do, and bodyweight moves level up to harder variations as you get stronger.
